More About the Chilterns Clock Club
The Chilterns Clock Club was newly formed from the Evening Class in Horology that was run by the Buckinghamshire Education Authority in Princes Risborough until May 2006. The class had run for 16 years but the Buckinghamshire Education Authority decided it could no longer open on Thursday evenings so an alternative was to form a Clock Club using different premises.
This has now been set up and properly constituted as the Chilterns Clock Club with 20+ members. The membership numbers are limited due to the size of the location. The club runs on Thursday evenings with two terms of up to 16 weeks; one from September to December (autumn term), and the other from January to March (winter term). In addition to the club nights, visits are arranged infrequently to places of horological interest
The reason for forming the Club was to provide a venue with specialist tools and help available where members could engage in practical clock repairing in a club environment sharing skills, knowledge, demonstrations and enthusiasm. The Chilterns Clock Club is a member of the Southern Federation of Model Engineering Societies.
The Chilterns Clock Club AGM is held on a club night in September.
